Whose name is on the masthead
gainifymax belongs to Mohegan, 1 Mohegan Sun Boulevard, Uncasville CT 06382, USA. Throughout these cards, “Mohegan” means the gaming and hospitality enterprise of the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut, once branded Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment. Editors read contact@gainifymax.com.
Two cards tied to us
Mohegan owns and manages Mohegan Sun, which is card one. It also operates Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls, Ontario, having been picked by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation as service provider for the Niagara Gaming Bundle, while the province retains ownership and oversight. Neither card earned its place independently, and reservations at either put money in our publisher's pocket.
Three ways money reaches us
First, buttons leading to hotel websites can include referral codes, so a reservation that follows may pay us a commission without raising your price. Second and third, stays at Mohegan Sun and at Fallsview feed our publisher's own business. Each strand is laid out on the affiliate disclosure page.
Picking cards three through ten
We stay inside one territory, Connecticut plus upstate New York plus Ontario, and consider only resorts with bedrooms on the property. Candidates are weighed on:
- Rooms: how understandable the room menu is, and what a guest sees through the glass.
- Leisure: treatment rooms, swimming, dining and live stages on site.
- Setting: scenery, neighbouring towns, sights, and how many hours of road or rail stand between you and the lobby.
- Openness: whether charges, minimum ages and house rules appear in plain view.
Cards carry no grades. Room totals, prices, opening years and prizes are left off unless certain, and gaming facilities have zero weight in the order.
Who writes, from what
Cards are drafted by travel editors familiar with the American Northeast and Ontario, working from first-hand sources: each resort's website, tribal and provincial tourism offices, and official park pages. Anything we could not pin down is either dropped or turned into a prompt to phone the hotel.
Fixing a card
Found something stale? Mail contact@gainifymax.com quoting the card number. One of us checks the claim against what that resort publishes, re-inks the card if you are right and moves its date stamp forward. Hotels are welcome to flag mistakes as well; none of them can purchase a higher number.
